Tech News September 15th, 2009
Cisco assisted by property services firm Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) try to offer a friendly building technology to the environment, both in the energy consumption to saving natural resources like water.
According to the research that has been held by JLL, the building is one of the biggest contributing factor to carbon dioxide (CO2). Whether it’s using a lot of glass relative to the electrical energy consumption is not small.
Research results of cooperation between JLL and CoreNet prove that the building was also consume the amount of water large enough. “A commercial building consumes about 1 / 3 of the amount of water around him,” Anton Sitorus uajr, Manager of Research Jones Lang LaSalle, the press in Oakwood Restaurant, Jakarta, Tuesday (21/4/2009).
Having previously used in some countries such as Latin America, Korea and Saudi Arabia, Cisco is now trying to offer green building technologies in Indonesia.
Concepts were quite interesting, with this technology every electronic device will be connected through the Internet Protocol (IP), so the device can cooperate with each other.
For example, otamatis lights will be switched off when the room was not inhabited, an alarm system linked to local security, or even tap water regulatory system which can also be adjusted. As a result diklam able to cut operating costs by 40% when compared to buildings in general.
