Providers of security services, AVG finally launched a new security solution for Linux-based operating systems. The solution consists of packages and mail server protections contained in one package.

According to AVG Australian representative, Lloyd Borrett, AVG Server Edition 8.5 and AVG Antivirus 8.5 for Linux can allow users to both individuals and large companies and internet service provider (ISP).

“Though not as much as the Windows operating system, but instead of Windows malware can and impact on Linux systems, and AVG 8.5 for Linux will provide anti-malware solution,” he was quoted as saying on Monday (11.5.2009).

Borret revealed, new features and benefits offered for the protection of Linux among other antivirus filters that can mengindai every virus attacks, worms, spyware, trojans, and other malware.

AVG 8.5 for Linux has been tested on Mandrake, Mandriva, Fedora Core, Debian, SUSE, Red Hat, Red Flag, and Ubuntu. The plan, AVG 8.5 for Linux will be available at the upcoming May 15
